The band just finished up playing at the American Bar & Grill in Lancaster with Shitty Friends and the Ravagers and has a few more dates to announce.
On Aug. 22, The Sophisticates are back at the Lizard Lounge for a Saturday evening show with the great band, Hound. Haven't heard of Hound?
What's wrong with you?
Fresh off the release of the J. Robbins produced, “Out of Time,” Hound has legit claims on being the best band working in Philly right now. In fact, Hound very well might be the best Philly-based band since Hall & Oates.
We kid you not.
Featuring Philadelphia-area artist Perry Shall on guitar and vocals, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists drummer Chris Wilson, and Katherine Simonetti, a touring member of the critically-acclaimed band Waxahatchee, Hound spent the last few months recording their record in Baltimore and embarking on a short tour of the U.S.
Described by WXPN as a hard-rocking power trio “with serpentine riffs and Motörhead-esque energy,” Hound has gained a loyal following in Philadelphia and New York City as well as with a few “celebrity” fans seen sporting their t-shirts.
In other words, Hound rocks. Hard. So make sure to get out to the Chameleon for the gig.
Meanwhile, The Sophisticates will also play at the Chameleon on Nov. 21 at the Angry, Young & Poor 20th Anniversary show. The Ravagers, The Casualties and Olde Tigers are also on the bill. More info and bands are sure to be added, so stay tuned for updates.
